I was set the task of creating some promotional work for a clothing company called Tarn, who specialised in outdoor wear, from Skiing and Snowboarding, to Hiking and Climbing. They required a logo, which would be used on their clothing, business cards and letterheads, a brochure and a website.
I drew up some rough logo’s before settling on my chosen one. I then had to decided on a suitable colour scheme, that kept in theme with the company and would look suitable on all their business matieral and clothing.
I felt the blue worked most effectively, as it complimented the gray mountains nicely. I also liked the green because it added some environment to it, I thought that on first glanse the blue made the logo look very cold, meaning people may associate the company with just Ski and Snow gear, whereas the green seemed to add a bit of diversity to the logo. However, I chose to use one of the blue logos and ended up using the 5th design.
I chose mountains for the logo image because they relate to all the elements the company is trying to target, whether you’re into hiking, climbing, skiining or snowboarding.
When I was happy with my logo and I’d settled on a font, I had to see how it looked on the clothing before I could then start to create the rest of their promotional materials.
The logo sits well on the clothes, so the next stage was to create a website design for the company.
Here’s an example of the homepage, which features a slideshow showing skiing, snowboarding, hiking and climbing images. There’s also a small section of the lastest clothing in the week. The second image is an example of how the shop would look.

This shows how the menu’s would look, so users could navigate themselves around the site. The second image is an example of how the site would look when the user went to look at a specific item.

Here is an example of what the front cover of the brochure looked like and the design used for some of the inside pages.

I also included a catalogue inside, where people could look at the clothes and prices. Along with the catalogue pages, I also made a full colour page, showing people wearing the clothes in the way they chose to, which you can see in the example below.
