I’ve always found infographics very interesting and inspiring so I decided to give it a go and venture into the world of infographics. At the time, there was a lot of talk in the media about how quickly Twitter was growing, so I decided to to create an infographic to illustrate these facts.

I spent a few days researching information and gathering the facts I needed. Once I had everything I needed I began putting everything into order.
I chose to start with the top 10 tweeting countries. A map always looked great on in an infographic, so it was very easy to choose how I wanted to portray this information.
The same with the colour scheme, I felt it was important I stuck with Twitter’s official colour scheme so that there was a clear visual connection between the two.

Next I created a nice simple box and bar graph layout to discuss figures for Twitter, from the growing Twitter users, to number of tweets sent per day and number of unique visits.
The pie charts are my favourite part of this infographic, especially the bottom three pie charts. I like the use of the different blues used and the annotations around them.
Here’s the final looking product.
