Last year, the oil spill was all over the news and although it wasn’t the biggest oil spill, it was still devestating to people all round the world and to the wildlife.
To put into perspective just how small the oil spill was, I researched previous oil spills and compared the sizes between them all. As you can see, the Gulf of Mexico is the smallest out of all of them.
This section was all about conversion. While I was researching I saw there were a lot of large figures used throughout news reports, but I feel that figures can be a lot more effective if you break them down in to something people can relate to, or something that people do, see or use everyday, which is the approach I used here.
I then moved on to discuss the effect the spill was having on the envrionment and the wildlife, which I think looks quite effective and is definitely something that shouldn’t be left out or overlooked.
